My Second Life
One day a friend on Skype introduced a kind of online game to me. It was called Second Life. He said he talked about the game with another Chinese man who said that it conformed to traditional Chinese thought. Most Chinese think we will have a next life.
At first, I did not know how to play it, and I wondered all along from this place to that. Actually I did not know where it was. Then I began talking with other players there. It really brought much fun. The first man I talked with ask me to play a little game with him, but I didn't have much time that afternoon. He became the first friend on my list.
Then on day I arrived at a dancing island, but I did not know how to dance at all. Then I asked a man who sat in the hall to teach me. He took me to a distant place where we could be alone and he taught me to dance. That is when I finally learned to love this game. I know nothing about dance in my real life and I am too shy to learn it in public because I think I am clumsy. I could see a virtual "I" dancing on the screen, that was great.
Yesterday, I was wondering as usual, then a girl talked to me. Her cloth was strange and so sexy, haha. It was like stripes around looked from back.She saw my profile, and she bet that I didn't have $1 virtual currency in the game. And I said she was right, because in my opinion after I chose my clothes, I did not want to change again.  That way my friends in the game can recognize me every time.  And that's a great idea, because I don't have a  washing machine in the game. I am a woman who hates doing chores at home. So it's a wonderful experience not having to buy new clothes to wash. But she gave me $250 and led me to a store to buy a pair of roller skates. I wanted to buy her a pair as Christmas gift but she said she already had one pair. So after I got my pair we went to a place called the Sand Box, and we could roll around. There she got a phone and left. When I offered friendship to her, she declined. What a strange girl!
Then I was left by myself, so I rolled around and met another girl on her roller skates.  I said hi to her. She was so warmhearted. When a guy near bye teased me, she stopped him. He said my dress was not great, so he wanted to send me some clothes. He was funny! She rolled around with me and told me she came to China last year and she could speak a little Chinese.  We had a nice talk together, but the night was late so I had to sleep for the next day's work.
Today, I logged on to Second Life again. I kept wandering around until I met two girls who were in a conflict. One girl kept pushing the other. And the other girl was so angry she said she had taken the shot and turned it in, then the police in SL would punished her. Wow, it's a kind of like real life.  There are police there, too. Then I saw the warmhearted girl was online again, and she took me to a cool place. It's an oil painting by  of Van Gogh called Starry Starry Night. It's so beautiful there, and the animation of snow was there representing this festival season. Even the lights of the little house were on, which brings me the warmth in this cold winter. When I stayed there, it was like in a fairy tale, or the OZ, the other side of the world. I'm Delores. Once again, I know why so many people like Second Life. There we can dream our dreams that never come true, or have a kind of feeling that we will never get in real life. And it's a wonderful place for female, because we like dreams, and even virtually it comes true.
And a funny thing happened, for whatever reason, the "I" on the screen kept shaking her head, I could not stop her. And that made me dizzy. The feeling was like I played with my shadow, but the shadow could do what it wanted to, and I could do nothing to stop it. Then my friend told me to sit on a bench that she might stop the weird move, but when I sat, she sat on the up side of the bench. That's really gave us a lot of fun.
When I had so much fun with my friend in Starry Starry Night, my Second Life crashed. I saw the time on my laptop. Oh, my. It was almost my time to get on my way to work place. Thanks to the crash, or I would be late for work this afternoon. It is Friday today, so I can go back to Second Life and enjoy it. So what do you think of it?
